Pro-V Kollagen® vs Collagen

What is Collagen and why is it so important?

Collagen is a word we hear so often associated with youthful skin and a healthy glow, but what is it?

Pro-V Kollagen

To understand the wonders of collagen, we have to get a little bit science-y.

Collagen is a protein and type 1 Collagen is the most abundant type of protein in our body.

It’s mostly found within connective tissues such as skin, tendons, ligaments and bones but also makes up the building-blocks of much more, including strong, healthy hair & nails.

Proteins are a mixture of amino acids and human type 1 collagen is composed of 18 amino acids which bind together, forming a triple-helix spiral structure.

It’s this spiral structure that gives healthy structure and bounce to your skin, muscles, hair, nails, bones and much more.

Aging process

Connective tissue cells, called fibroblasts, produce and maintain your body’s collagen, but as we age, our fibroblast function becomes weakened, and our natural collagen production begins to slow down.

This change, along with the loss of another key structural protein called Elastin, can lead to tell-tale signs of ageing, such as fine lines, dark spots, dry skin, and brittle hair & nails that are prone to breakage.

Pro-V Kollagen

Did you know that your collagen levels naturally begin to decline in your 20s and continue to decrease about 1% each year.

So, it's a good idea to start thinking about supporting your body's natural collagen levels early on before they dip too low.

What is Pro-V Kollagen®?

Pro-V Kollagen® is a multi-award-winning complex blend of amino acids in the exact same proportions as those found within human type 1 collagen. (Source referenced below*).

Designed and developed in the UK, and specifically formulated using 100% plant-based (vegan) ingredients, Pro-V Kollagen® delivers all the benefits of traditional marine and bovine-based collagen supplements without any animal-derived elements.

And because the amino acids in our formula are already isolated, they are much easier for the body to absorb and utilise.

Our Pro-V Kollagen® formula also contains:

  • Vitamin E, an incredible antioxidant for the skin.
  • Vitamin C, Zinc Citrate & Copper Citrate, essential vitamins and minerals for supporting the body’s natural collagen production and for supporting a healthy immune system.
  • Manganese, a key mineral which contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and the formation of connective tissue as well as protecting cells from oxidative stress.

Pro-V Kollagen® is suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians and is free from any micro-plastics and traces of heavy metals which can sometimes be found in conventional marine and bovine-based collagen.

Pro-V Kollagen® is also free from dairy, gluten, wheat and gelatine.
